Background:

Open year-round, the Bed & Breakfast at the William Lewis House is located just off Logan Circle, near the corner of R and 13th Streets. Originally opened as a single house after an extensive ten-year restoration, the William Lewis House expanded in 1999 to include the house next door and the garden between the two houses. The combined grounds provided space to create a wonderfully landscaped courtyard that includes a large sitting porch, hot tub, water garden, limited off-street locked parking and a large deck to connect the two houses.

David, Willy and David's wonderful and lovable dog, Mattie Sue, look forward to your arrival and stay in their home.

Bedrooms:

Each bedroom is decorated with a charming blend of family heirlooms and selected antiques. A private telephone with voice mail is provided in each room and can be reached via the Guest Rooms telephone number. Fluffy, white cotton bathrobes in each closet help make trips to the shower and hot tub more convenient. An alarm clock is provided for your wake-up needs. The clocks even automatically reset during time changes. Each room is equipped with a multi-speed ceiling fan and a majority of the rooms are furnished with a writing desk for your convenience. All guest rooms contain a safe for your valuables if you choose to use them.  Each has a very large capacity and you set the code.  Both houses are, of course, heated and air conditioned.

There is only one small Economy Room with a full bed. Regular Rooms contain a full-sized bed and are more spacious than the Economy Room. Queen Rooms are the larger of the rooms in the B&B and contain a Queen-sized bed. The Deluxe Queen Room is decorated with handmade wallpapers appropriate to the era during which the house was built and is nicely decorated with antique prints and handmade carpets. The Ultra-Deluxe Queen is the most requested room at William Lewis. It is our largest, most spacious and most luxurious room. The room is also decorated with handmade carpets and wallpaper appropriate to the era when the house was built. Each bed is topped with a luxurious feather mattress and 100-percent cotton sheets for a comfortable nights sleep.

In-Suite Queens

We have just added two Queen Rooms with private baths. These rooms were originally the English Basement apartments for the two houses. Each is equipped with a single Queen sized bed and a full sized sleeper sofa. While these rooms have kitchens, the kitchens may not be used by bed and breakfast guests due to city regulations. These rooms will accommodate up to four persons and do require a minimum three night stay. While the guests in these rooms have access to the remainder of the property, it is thru the front doors of the upper part of the houses. These room have only a private entrance under the front porch area of the houses.

Internet Connection:

Secure wireless internet connections are available in each house. Each guest room is also hard-wired for high-speed connections. A computer is available for guest use in the dining room to check email, print boarding passes and to do those last minute changes to presentations.

Television Viewing:

There is a television in the living room of 1309 for guest viewing. The two queens with private baths also have two TV's in each room.
